J. Silvio Mascolo

Jay is a RAM Law partner.  He focuses on civil and criminal trial practice with an emphasis on personal injury law.  Jay is licensed in New Jersey and practices in both the state and federal courts.

Jay obtained a B.A. in History in 1996 from Seton Hall University and he earned his J.D. in 1999 from the law school at The Catholic University of America. From 1999-2000, he served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Yolanda Ciccone in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Middlesex County.

Jay is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. This distinction is held by less that 2% of the attorneys currently licensed to practice law in New Jersey. He earned the distinction of Rising Star in the 2006, 2007 and 2008 New Jersey Super Lawyers publication, a distinction voted upon by the top 5% of attorneys in New Jersey designated as Super Lawyers.

Jay has obtained dozens of verdicts in personal injury jury trials throughout New Jersey, from Essex County to Salem County. He has extensive experience in automobile and premises liability litigation, insurance coverage disputes and underinsured and uninsured motorist litigation.  His practice includes the representation of injured people in personal injury cases.   His experience includes such representation as a result of car accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, premises liability, workplace injuries and defective products . In addition to his experience in civil litigation, Jay represents clients in workers’ compensation claims, as well as, those charged with traffic violations, criminal offenses and DWI.

Jay is currently a member of the Middlesex and Union County Bar Associations and the Trial Lawyers Association of New Jersey. He has spoken at seminars involving personal injury case values, jury selection and voir dire, settlement negotiations and opening and closing statements.  He is also a barrister in Joseph Halpern Inn of Court.

Jay was also selected as one of the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2010 “40 Under 40″ which recognizes the top 40 attorneys in New Jersey under 40 years of age. The award features 40 attorneys the New Jersey Law Journal believes are worthy of profiling, due to their backgrounds and talent and who have presented strong trial, appellate or transactional work. New Jersey Law Journal criteria for selection examines candidates’ recognition by peers and community activity, along with evaluation of a candidate’s career, recognition by professional organizations, individual membership and leadership roles in the bar, and work in charitable and volunteer activities.
